The 6 inch Newtonian telescope is the ideal starting point when first starting with telescopes. A few reasons are as follows, they offer, a great quality to which meets the eye, but also when using for basic astrophotography. As the Ideal 6 has a shorter range focal length of 750mm and the Ideal 6L has a focal length of 1200mm, a longer tube is required to suit this design. But don’t worry… there is only a very small price difference! These telescopes are mostly used for looking at deep sky images, such as, galaxies, star clusters and even nebulas such as the Orion Nebula.

We offer the best of the best when it comes to Optics in telescopes. Therefore, Optical upgrades are available for both telescopes. From 1/6 of a wavelength up to 1/10 of a wavelength. The smaller the wavelength the more crystal clear and better quality the optic is. (See prices below for guide and further information).

Finally, these telescopes as well as all others that we manufacture come with an option of tube assembly, this is when we build the telescope to your standards and your request. A dovetail is required with purchase of the tube assembly.
